3 Wise Men

Last night was epic.  B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Al Green sharing a stage.  I must admit, I'm not one for Al Green...however the King, he's a classic and Buddy Guy-this being my first time seeing him live...was amazing!  True Blues. Music just ins't quite what it used to be.

There's something about these men too... Buddy Guy in his silky polka-dot shirt and white slacks, BB in his classic suit. The men just exude class.

Drivers to new heights

I've become a sucker for penny drivers, loafers, mocs, what have you.  Now to add some height to this great, classic! These are definitely being added to my Fall Necessity list!

Pet Me.

Imagine: a cup of coffee, snow outside, book in hand, fire going, and you wrapped in this blanket....oh god.  I think I need it.

Pack of Spirals

After my week, I'd give pretty much anything to go to the ocean, free of phones and people... Maybe one day.

Geriatrics.

Last night was the Chris Isaak concert at Red Butte Gardens.  The show was insanely entertaining.  Besides the ridiculous outfits worn by Mr. Isaak, the crowd was a show of it's own.  There's something disturbingly interesting about drunk old women.  They tip back their pink wine in their fancy Pottery Barn picnic wine glasses, and almost instantly transform from someone's mother to a lucious giggly thing.  Also, it should be understood by now that, white people...well we can't dance.  Add age and booze to that...I'm sure you can imagine.  All in all, despite the old, poorly dressed, intoxicated gyrations surrounding me, I survived the night and relatively unharmed.

Bron Yr Aur Stomp

The heat is still rampant, yet summer is so close to an end.  I am dreading the come of snow with darkness til 8 am and dirt filled snow (that is if the snow acutally comes in the winter, rather than the spring).  However, the new Fall Fashion is lifting my spirits.  Inevitably, my list could go on forever, but here's a quick start to my footwear needs as the leaves begin to change.

Nya Missbruk

Stieg Larsson has made the new series epidemic make sense.  Forget the Vampire bullshit, the witches and magic... let's get down to business.  Sex, scandal and violence... that's what real adult books should be about! The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series is beyond fantastic.  A word of advice,  set out a chunck of time, once you start reading, you won't put them down!

Hooked on Phonics

I never have been one to like doing something that doesn't come easily.  Call me stubborn or competitive but if I'm not good or can't convincingly bullshit my way through it... well I'm just not going to do it.  In comes cooking.  The closest thing to gourmet to come out of my oven is Digiorno.  If you were to inspect my fridge you'd find left overs, ice cream, condiments, several bottles of Pellegrino and maybe some limes?  So my lack of skills in the culinary world has been brought to full attention thanks to one man.  Now that I have my own personal chef, per se... there's no need to ever invest in such skills.  Until now.  The idea of cooking dinner for a chef tonight... has left me wanting to order in and destroy my kitchen to cover the evidence.  Where's Hooked on Phonics for cooking... cause it sure as hell hasn't worked for me.
